I’m a fan of old blends. When done right they can be every bit as good as an old malt.
This one is good not great. Comes across a little wood and grain heavy. I enjoy it, but certainly not for the hefty price. Mouthfeel and finish are on the thin side, which leaves a little to be desired. Big old wooden notes, wood glue, cacao, carob, leather, old vanilla, a few old fruits. Actually very cognac-y.
