    Very nice… rum

  2. vlad78 scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

Of course, rum added color to this drink. Bright, powerful, multi-layered and assertive.
    • Nose
Vanilla, rather even a sweet bun with cinnamon and powdered sugar. A vase with fruits and berries.
    • Taste
The taste is powerful, bright, sweet, red and yellow apples, apricot, peach and cinnamon. A little seasoning.
    • Finish
      Long, sweet, hot, candy.

Very good, complex, balanced, fruity whisky. Easy to recognize Caroni rum influence !

A very exciting whisky from a closed distillery, whose malt was finished in a barrel of a closed rum distillery. I like the exotic hints, I'll have to turn to the whiskys from rum casks.
    • Nose
At first clearly sweet and sugary with notes of vanilla, syrup and fresh biscuit cake. Exotic aromas can also be recognized, rum and dried and sugared fruits. At the end, sweet citrus fruits with orange, pineapple and passion fruit are slightly covered by dry spices, some leaves and a scent of a flower shop.
    • Taste
Very creamy and vanilla in the mouth with light honey. There is also a distinct nuttiness and spiciness here, behind everything there is some orange peel.
    • Finish
The finish is light, sweet and creamy with a lot of vanilla and a little dry spiciness.

Very cool experiment, the Mittrinker what it much too much rum, that's why I think it's great, probably. a year or a half less would have brought it too.
    • Nose
Rumfinish very intense, had rums that smelled less rum, esther notes everywhere, demerara sugar, palm oil, toffee, honey, light raisins, marzipan, lamp oil, apricot, cantaloupe, grapes, sweet tobacco
    • Taste
Honeydew melon, esthernote, papaya, mango, lychee, pineapple, kiwi, fennel, lamp oil, sweet tobacco, raisins, anise, cumin, cardamom, saffron, clove, nutmeg
    • Finish
Dark butter, cherry, fig, autumn leaves, tobacco, peach, long

Interesting whisky sweet in the mouth and slightly bitter on the finish, notes of wood, honey and polish in the nose.

    That's really weird stuff.

And honestly, guys from Alambic, admit it: you finished a Caroni in the Caperdonich-barrel and not the other way around ... ;-)

Blind tasted is a rum and not whisky. Who is looking for whisky: look somewhere else. If you like rum, you might enjoy it.
