Whisky Reviews for Glengoyne 17-year-old

- I was not expecting the wonders of this whisky and yet I am very pleasantly surprised especially by a very elegant nose
Delicate, feminine? Plums, apricots, almonds and leather also associated with a greener side and carried by biscuits and butter. With aeration, dried fruit, even candied: currants and orangettes.
Lack a little pep and the attack is a little soft. It does not remain less interesting with always these plums, a lot of leather, a little honey and certainly some toffee? After a dozen seconds, it pecks slightly the tip of the tongue before a spicy wave does not appear.
Long and slightly tingling (spicy) and a hint of perfume.
- Bind tasting.
Dusty, sherry, oily, herbs and syrup. Fudge and overall a bit to sharp.
Plastic notes, fudge, corn, some liquorice and earthy. Very weird taste. Looks like a rye whisky imho.
Sweet fruits and later some classic notes. Brown spices cookies, spices, meaty and laurel.
- The difference with the bottle under ID 27366 is the text on the golden cap which is missing from that one.
Of the ones with the text there's even a slight difference in font types (straight and italic) but these differences are not on Whiskybase.
Plum, almond, tangerine, toffee, leather, yellow raisin and cocoa.
Toffee, tobacco, leather, plum and dark chocolate.
A lot like a cognac. Almond, toffee, leather, dark chocolate and orange.
