Above all a malt note, but not as dominant as z. B. at a Springbank. The whisky is more and more in the room, I notice a really mature oak, which combines like a double bass, the various instruments - here the different (taste) notes.
After about 45 minutes in the glass dominates a really heavy sweetness. From DRY apple no trace. Now I add a few drops of water. This does not really change anything, so has 60% vol. the good. So I give a few more splashes in the glass.
Madness! A total fruit compote from (wine) grape spreads, in addition to the fresh (no longer dried) apple. The water runs together in the mouth, although so far only my nose was blistering.
Total mature oak, really nice, not at all aggressive just so pleasant and strong. I have to think about tree bark and chewing tobacco (tobacco), but do not nail me here. It's just awesome, a really great taste is spreading here, which unfortunately I can not associate with a certain note. So let's stay with the "tree bark". If you can smell the malt now, the candy is back in full, after the addition of water had almost completely given way to the fruit compote.
