- Medicinal, meaty, lemon, wet dog, plasters, maritime, salty and bouquet of fresh fruit.
- Definitely a young Lagavulin! It’s a dead giveaway on the nose...very reminiscent of the 12yo profile (crystal-clean peat and salty sea air), but with added sweet fruits from the sherry cask. The sweetness I expected from the nose didn’t really materialise on the palate, where the youth of the spirit is more evident. Cracked black pepper and a hint of spice, with quite a woody influence from the cask too. A fairly short and drying/peppery finish rounds things off.

islay kinda ledaig for its dry smoke! ... but no!
nose quite sweet, creamy almost, well-preserved fruit, vanilla on the return, the peat is there but sweet, it's more smoke that predominates, a little dust too, spices a little sweet, in short, it's well done
medium to long finish on the same scents
a Lagavulin surely but boosted by sherry!

An Islay Malt with "L", but not Laphroaig :-D from a sucked sherry butt. Still great :-)
