- for my taste the overall profile of the newer 30 yo bottling is superior.
this one - despite its low ABV - is not weakish at all. nice aromas on nose, taste and finish.
surprisingly long, spicy finish for its ABV
- very beautiful retro style Sherrymalt - very dark fruit without being killed by the barrel, elegant and fragrant without faltering
passed raspberries and blackberries, caramel, black cherries, balsamic, beeswax, oranges, orange oil, dates, figs, apricot jam,
Tropical wood sanding dust, furniture polish, carnauba wax cream, ground leather belt, juicy tobacco, lilac, orange and rose petals,
Berry paste, cherry jam, ground wood, cinnamon, nutmeg, bay leaf, some mint and clearly tobacco, some musty oak, slightly dry, full-bodied and surprisingly strong for 43%, very well balanced
long and tasty, fruits and wood go well together,
- Body: Medium to full. Rounded.
Polished oak. Rich, complex. Fruity.
Soft, complex. Hints of apple and orange. Dryish spiciness.
Lovely long. Firm ,dry. Hint of charred oak.
- This one is certainly one of my favorites, a perfect dram.
Explosion of fruit, raisins and citrus, sweet.
Butterscotch, peppery, dry and woody.
Gentle warming and long lasting.
