- The bottling comes from the same barrel as this one: https://www.whiskybase.com/whiskies/whisky/121909/ledaig-2007-mc
- Nose: Immediately after pouring the Ledaig is in the room. Strong peat smoke in combination with an intense sweetness hits my nose - like smoked cotton candy. Even his origin from the Isle of Mull hides the Malt not. Fresh and maritime meets a grapefruit. There is also the well-known cowshed, but only in the background. What can I say ... this nose is exactly my thing!
Taste: Sticky sweetness and again the strong peat smoke here are the prominent flavors. The cotton candy is transformed on the tongue into sweetened condensed milk à la Milchmädchen. In addition, some grapefruit and a little grassy. The vanilla is there, but holds back discreetly. The malt is really full and full in the mouth without producing any trace of burning or scratching and that at almost 60%. Really great.
Finish: medium with wood, sweetness, more intense smoke, grapefruit and ginger.
