That's exactly my whisky when it's not smoky.

Great Sherrynote but not so good, rather daring. The 58.7% are good, but not optimally involved.

The classic taste of raisins and dark ripe fruit dominates in a composition of a submissive woody aroma, which remains only in the background and gives a truly balanced flavor.

Caramel, toffee and vanilla flavors dominate both the smell and the taste.

The finish is relatively long and shows the interplay of raisin and rum and caramel flavors with a fine woody note, which does not bother and is superimposed by the Sherrysüße.

After the sweet notes are gone, but then comes at the end of a woody taste to the fore, which lasts for a long time.

For me, a whisky, the price of € 59.99 convinced. For the price-performance ratio, there are the 90 points.

Ofcourse in the beginning fruity with notes like raisins, oranges, peaches and lemon. Followed by notes of fruitcake and boiled sweets. Now you'll find floral notes like violets and lavendel. At the end a note of oak.

Fruity in the beginning with notes of raisins, plums, peaches, cherries and strawberries. Lovely sweet notes like vanilla and grenadine syrup. It turns spicy now with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. At the end notes of chocolate and oak.

Medium-long. It keeps lingering on with notes of peaches and syrup, followed by notes of honey, freshly mown grass and some cinnamon.

      Dirty gold

      Nose:
Starts a little restrained and a little fruity. The flavors are a bit impetuous. Wood glue in combination with lemon. A fresh note of wood joins it. Very fresh in the background. Something like men's shower gel.
With a little time in the glass, light currants and a little herbal honey will prevail. Something peach and something very flowery.
    • Taste
Soft start. Neat honey and elderberry. In addition, red apple, which comes across as a bit sour. Plum and freshly made cake batter. Add a little sliver of almonds and the fresh wood again. The second sip makes the colleague look rather greasy. He's got something for me from potatoes with sweet peppers.
    • Finish
Medium to long. First very dry and fresh. The wood aroma lingers on the cheeks for a long time. A light fruity bitterness rounds off the story.

  4. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

Tense, some funky whisky with some very unusual notes.
    • Nose
sweet and slightly alcoholic, brandy beans, sherry, but also grassy, lemon cleaning agent, gravy, very idiosyncratic, but somehow very good.
    • Taste
pure a bit badly hot, bitter sweet, with water a bit nicer, more pleasing, bitter sweet, grassy notes.
    • Finish
Sherry, oak, citrus peel, very sweet and quite bitter notes alternate.

In the Magellanic, the first impression is deep, dark and full of preserved raisins. An alcohol note is clearly noticeable now well we are also moving at almost 60%. I have a distinct sweetness in the nose and wooden, nutty components. After some time in the glass a fruity orange appears and this underlines the spice of the whisky even more. The nose is really appealing and intense.

In the mouth, he then shows what he can, he once occupied the complete palate, he literally crawls into every corner. Then the palate fills up completely with saliva, spice, intensity and wood notes are spreading. Orange, dry orange, a little sweet, less than suspected and again raisins. One notices the distinctly high alcohol content paired with a delicious, intense creaminess. Yes, this is a dry representative who is already demanding a lot of attention. Only a little water tames him and makes it much rounder. The dryness disappears.
    • Finish
      85 85
In the finish I feel a sweetness of raisins and honey and I still taste a little woody note, but overall he does not stay too long despite high alcohol.
