OBE worked for the nose, less for the palate. Very good old whisky though. It just misses some complexity and length.
    • Nose
Dusty old books, leather, wood polish, dried fruits (prunes, dates), hay, hints of smoke.
    • Taste
Wax, oranges, pepper, chocolate, nuts, vanilla and toffee.
    • Finish
      Medium, spices and toffee.

  4. Carsten scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

Color: orange-brown Nose: fruity fresh, oranges, milk chocolate, plum jam Body: medium / oily Mouth: mild, caramel mixes with eucalyptus, white pepper Departure: medium, mild, chocolate and coffee, ginger, in the finish dry wood notes Conclusion: 90P., Super sherry cask whisky from the first year of production of the still, still a fresh nose, despite the 40% sufficient strength

  5. MaltMartin scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

Lochside from the 1960's is always a pleasure. This one is very delicate and complex.
    • Nose
Very dusty. Old books. Polished oak. Caramel. Flowery notes of heather and hay. Blackcurrants at the background.
    • Taste
Orange marmelade. Vanilla fudge. But also bitterness of grapefruit. Some soft sherry influence.
    • Finish
Medium long. Dry. Pepper. Ginger. Cinnamon.
