Very sweet with an initial burst of vanilla, Demerara sugar and caramel. Crushed hazelnuts and almonds. Red cherries and stone fruits (peaches and apricots). The some of that sherry influence with dark juicy plums and dried sultanas along with some ginger spice and cloves. A touch of dusty leather. Espresso and milk chocolate as well, like a mocha. The high ABV certainly leaves a mark as well with a slight solvent prickle.

Quite hot on the palate. More sherry influence with dried fruits, raisins, fresh plum notes alongside the stone fruits. Some cinnamon and nutmeg. Some overbrewed herbal tea notes. Like the nose, loads of vanilla and brown sugar sweetness. Some dark bitter cocoa stops this from being overpoweringly sweet. Some water certainly helps tame the alcohol nip.

Medium in length. Very warming as it goes down. Still sweet with vanilla and caramel. Ginger turns into chilli heat. A touch more bitter espresso and cocoa. A little hazelnut residue.
