really needs water for full enjoyment. decent but not a style i reach for very often. 6.5/10
    • Nose
a bit eyewatering at full strength. two teaspoon job. green banana, herbal cough mixture, raisin, slight silage, bonfire and coals. nice
    • Taste
it's very loud and bright. barbequed green banana, a little bit of vanilla pod, vegetal, malt vinegar, menthol and herbal lozenges (definitely fisherman's friend), ashes, fat, oily with more banana-y esters in the finish.

    Tasted during a whisky festival

A young peat bomb, that is quite different from the Islands style of peat. Big slightly vegetal peat notes, but also baking spices and rather floral. Interesting, but I don’t really care for floral notes. It’s quite unique and worth trying for sure.

Well-integrated peat, with floral notes and spices behind.

Starts with a touch of liquorice, before a very strong on-come by the peat. It has a slightly medicinal taste, but also leathery and woody. A bit of carrot too.

As the peat settles down, apples become more apparent, with spices too. A bit of chocolate.

Beautiful spicy torfer, young, fierce and spicy. Does not mean anything to the Scots.
    • Nose
Beautiful, spicy smoke, vanilla, nutmeg, cloves. Spicy sweet and yummy with beautifully integrated peat. With water comes something fruity, but it also gets a little hotter. Otherwise little change.
    • Taste
Pure powerful, but doable. First sweet peat, then lots of pepper and bitter oak. The 65% you realize at some point. With water, peat and spices are more direct.
    • Finish
Long, peaty, spicy, a lot of oak, relatively bitter at the end. Some menthol.
