This expression doesn't always play well with food nor other whiskies. Its an above average dram if you start with it and delve into its peaty, bitter and sour aspects. At first, I rated it significantly lower. It has some 'outlier aspects' that can prove a draw to Laphroaig devotees. Its a good pre-dinner drink. Perhaps, with crustaceans. I've come to appreciate it. I'm not prepared to go into taste details at this time.
