Tasted blind as the 15th whisky of my 2016 whisky advent calendar.
A whiff of smoke (?), vanilla, candied and fried apples, pear juice and toffee mixed together, fruity wood-spices and wood soaked with honey and cream, dried fruity tea, some faint liquorice, raspberry mousse made from fresh raspberries, some tropical presence mixed with toffee, a subtle earthy character throughout, caramel ice cream, tobacco, firm and 'asserting' oak and leather.
Slightly burned nutty syrup (almost a bit 'Mortlachy', very pleasant to me), just a little bit of peat smoke, fruit, some zestiness, cream, 'dark fruits', leather, fresh peat straight out of the ground and tobacco.
Medium to long - nutty malt, a trace of smoke, 'asserting' wood, toffee-fruitiness, vanilla, a heavy almost oily element, tobacco, cream, a bit of spicy honey and burnt syrup (pleasant!).
