- Nose: The association whisky and rum cask is quickly obvious. I'm not particularly looking for this kind of profile at the base, but I must say that since I tasted rums of this caliber, gives it a little changed. I do not really appreciate the finishes on rums too sweet, blubibulga, no. In this case, even if it is not blind, not easy to say ok it is Caroni, from the outset we can realize that it is a rum of English tradition. There is this marriage of pastry notes, with apple and deep caramel. The whole is sweet, very fresh and subtle. With the opening, we have notions of mango, something that is frangipane, banana.
Palate: If the attack is full of spices, they will act in waves, letting appear a greater sweetness. I have the impression that the Glenburgie will arrive with its fruity notes, apple, but also the influence of the bourbon cask, honeyed, pastry always. The impact of the finish will make its way a little later and clearly we feel this transition on more exotic notes of mango, banana, intense caramel. Just like on the nose, I would say that all this takes place in the calm, it is very progressive, always with a lot of finesse.
Finish: Spicy, hot. Dried fruits, like Brazil nuts. Then clearly mango and banana. Drier, woody.
