    • Nose
Simple caramel, green tea marked. A little alcohol. Made less than 10 years.
    • Taste
Caramel, greenery ... soft and pleasant. Rum noticeable.
A little flat, not very explosive.
    • Finish
Long and intense, but without development, too linear.

      Enthusiasm 2/5

      Whisky n ° 1999

Very sweet one, but still very enjoyable. To bottle this at 52 seems as a good choice, lower Abv would make this one too sweet and weak probably.
    • Nose
      85 85
Fruity, peach, sweet, vanilla, honey. Pretty prominent alcohol, full nose. Some applepie-feeling suddenly.
    • Taste
      84 84
Reasonable pepper, full taste, sweet, some sugar. Vanilla, honey.
    • Finish
      85 85
Still some pepper, sweet, honey and vanilla dominate again. Pretty full and reasonable long.

    Nose:
Immediately after pouring a full roar of sweet flavors: vanilla pudding, puff pastry with frosting, warm apple strudel with vanilla sauce, caramel. Behind the sweetness are some "dirty" scents, tools and a touch of gas station.
Some breathing produces herbal notes and a slightly mineral smell. This impression is reinforced by the addition of a little water, also comes a touch of ink from the background to my nose.

    Mouth:
Here, too, a lot of sweet pastries, especially puff pastry with frosting. Sugar candy, vanilla, again accompanied by herbs, something chalky (The taste has the strongly calcareous water). Again, a touch of gas station, as if you had not washed your hands well after refueling a diesel and then ate a vanilla jelly.

Finish: medium-long, slightly peppery and there is hardly any sweetness left.

A very interesting malt. Since I had neither a Caroni, nor a Glenburgie I can not say where the whisky ends and the influence of the rum begins. The overall composition is definitely delicious and good.

Nose: The association whisky and rum cask is quickly obvious. I'm not particularly looking for this kind of profile at the base, but I must say that since I tasted rums of this caliber, gives it a little changed. I do not really appreciate the finishes on rums too sweet, blubibulga, no. In this case, even if it is not blind, not easy to say ok it is Caroni, from the outset we can realize that it is a rum of English tradition. There is this marriage of pastry notes, with apple and deep caramel. The whole is sweet, very fresh and subtle. With the opening, we have notions of mango, something that is frangipane, banana.

Palate: If the attack is full of spices, they will act in waves, letting appear a greater sweetness. I have the impression that the Glenburgie will arrive with its fruity notes, apple, but also the influence of the bourbon cask, honeyed, pastry always. The impact of the finish will make its way a little later and clearly we feel this transition on more exotic notes of mango, banana, intense caramel. Just like on the nose, I would say that all this takes place in the calm, it is very progressive, always with a lot of finesse.

Finish: Spicy, hot. Dried fruits, like Brazil nuts. Then clearly mango and banana. Drier, woody.
