Downplayed dram who has some very unusual notes to offer. But he can not completely hide his youth in the finish.
Smoky, salty and sweet. Smoked BBQ sauce, salted peanuts, smoked paprika powder. Slowly becomes fruity, cranberries, currants, raspberries, and a strong hint of vanilla.
Strong onset, oily mouthfeel. Strong berry sweets, redcurrant and strawberry jam, raspberries with vanilla sugar. Also the BBQ sauce is there. The oak shows over dark caramel, and zarbittere mint chocolate.
Medium length finish. Clearly metallic note, which also has something of raspberries. Still the mint chocolate, and some espresso.
Want to shock a PX-fan or surprise a smoke head? Well this Ardmore won't disappoint. The PX is well under control by a overwhelming smoke. From dry wood-smoke to methyl tobacco and lots more. Smoke, smoke, smoke. Very interesting to explore! Full review (in German): https://keinehalbendrinks.de/2019/08/29/viel-rauch-um/
