Very fruity and creamy but also clean and sharp in a way - really good

Very citric, lemons, oranges, grapefruits, honey, hints of vanilla and toffee, also peaches, bananas, some more tropical fruits, some minerals - very good

Oily, liquorice, sirupy, good sweetness, fruity, citrus fruits, yellow fruits, some tropical fruits, peppery, zesty, little woody - great

Long, burning, more lemons, still good sweetness, more spices

A wonderful sample from the WB Archives.
It's as complex and ballanced as you can expect of a whisky this age.
    • Nose

First thing out of the glass is fresh bright lemon citrus.
      Then some vanilla sweetness.
Faintly floral and some fruits on the tropical side.
      Also some soft fudgy stuff.
Apart from the obvious citrus it is a very evenly knit fabric.
Just a few drops of water eases the citric impression and seems to make it even more ballanced.
    • Taste
      93 93
      This is straight on delicious.
Arrives a little dry, but is countered by a nice fruity sweetness.
Lemon is present, but not at the level of the nose.
At around 51% the spice is noticeable but modest, and this is perfectly fine neat.
Added a few drops of water just out of curiosity, and it stays potent, gets a little sweeter, not quiet as dry and if possible even more tasty.
    • Finish
      92 92
This is long, sweet and fruity.
Neat it is a little drying, with a dab of water not so much.
Dark thick fudge, a soft touch of wood at the very end.

I was told this came from a certain Glen of Rothes.. ;)

Very clean and fruity. Orange peel, cranberry, fig, apple juice, lemon, apricot. Then cacao dusting, butterscotch, sultana, strawberry yoghurt, some roasted aroma's and buttery pastry. Oily and creamy in the mouth with lots of tropical fruits again, jaffa cake, toffee, Belgian praliné, pistacchio, dunnage funk, a little balsamic vinegar
and mint. Finish is medium. Malty and sweet with a minty note. Just like a peppermint at some point.

Based on a sample, thanks again Tijmen.

Hard to score on a 2cl sample but a very nice sample from WB nevertheless! Fruity, creamy, nice mouthfeel, good strength.

All fruits of the world, but especially citrus, well seasoned, very subtle wood.

Green & citric on the nose, lemon, grapefruit, green apples, green banana. Taste is quite strong and punchy, a bit alcoholic, hot with spices and pepper. Zesty. Sweet and not so citric as the nose. Oily. Finish is long, still very hot with more sweetness and some oak. Water calms it a bit but flattens the taste

This is a great whisky and a sample courtesy of Whiskybase.

Yeah very speyside, fruiy and grassy. Lemon drops, viburnum flower and even Elder flower. Some candy in there like a Refresher sweet. Just a little tingle on the nose that is quite citrus.
    • Taste
      91 91
First sip hits the spot straight away and there is more of that lemon citrus. A little dryness but it is very pleasant and fruity.
This is nice to drink without water, just the right punch. A couple of drops of water and that punch is now a good slap but no change in taste.
    • Finish
      89 89
A nice long finish and it leaves a fruity tingle with a dab of sherbet on the death.
