This was a sample from WB.
Not at all a bad whisky, very nice nose, but there's something about the taste that I'm not certain about.
    • Nose
      85 85
      Refined well matured Speyside nose.
      Sweet on caramel and honey.
Citrus is very gentle, on orange peel.
      Floral perfumey note, spring blossoms.
    • Taste
      82 82
Neutral mouth feel, with low to medium spice.
Darker, more red fruit and less sweet than the nose.
Some unusual dry note in there that I can't figure out, slightly artificial, some kind of mouthwash?
    • Finish
      83 83
      Sweet, vanilla, butterscotch.
A little bitter at the very end.

This was a sample courtesy of WB. It's not awful but as others have said I expected more from a 23 year old. Not having much luck with old whisky at the moment.
    • Nose
      83 83
Quite a spirity nose at first but keep sniffing until the nose gets used to it and then things start to appear like Apricots, marmalade, tangerine, golden delicious apples. Also some sweet honey and custard.
    • Taste

I have to agree with Peatbogger here, there is something not quite right, almost sour and bitter like when you bite into an orange that is well past it's sell by date. I tried a few drops of water and it's not as sour but it is still there.
    • Finish
      68 68
The bitterness really shows on the finish and a dry mouthfeel on the death.

Due to the especially prevalent citrus notes, this can only be a Speyside in a blind tasting. Good, solid drop.

interesting dram, hard to score a 2cl sample but will give it a shot. lot's tropical fruit notes on the nose, this translates to the taste in similar tropical fruit juice flavours, some passion fruit jumps out for me. nice abv nice mouthfeel, solid lengthy finish. no water added. sample courtesy of whiskybase. Slainte!

Sweet & fruity nose, honey, touch of citrus and oak. Sweet creamy taste with more ripe fruits, vanilla, spices, light pepper. Medium to long finish, sweet, honey. Not very complex, even a bit boring but very drinkable speysider
