#0328 LAPHROAIG LORE ISLAY SINGLE MALT 48%
... ...is LORE worth its price? I guess you'll have to decide for yourself. LORE suits me. Pleasant, quite complex, and at the same time sophisticated, smooth, very warming. I admit that it's well composed. I don't know if it was supposed to be that way , or it turned out that way. It's not important. I would recommend it. Worth at least trying.
    • Nose
... there is peat, which should not come as a surprise. However, it is pleasant peat. One could say - sublime. Sweetish, baked-apple and even campfire climate. A bit of seaweed, sea climate. The aromas create the impression of the coziness of a home fireplace. Spices, vanilla, a bit of chocolate. The whole is interestingly balanced. It is difficult to find "something" here, what is there is quite enough... one more word - what is there in an empty glass - here it is some wet plaster (not mustiness or moisture), a really delicate smell of sprats in a can, maybe antiseptic gauze. Despite everything, I prefer aromas from a full glass.
    • Taste
... oily, bitter, burnt spices, tastes a bit like aromatic oil. Dill, sage leaf. The first sip is a bit of a shock in relation to the aromas, but it's not bad. The second sip - now licorice, artichoke, delicate citrus have jumped to the first place. All this is decorated with a spice that is constantly "burned". The distillate strength is 48%, but it does not interfere with the reception, it only enhances all these ingredients. It gives greater intensity to all these ingredients. It burns a little, stings like a hot potato taken from the ashes and tastes a little like that. The peat is still there but it is not intrusive, although it is noticeable. Personally, the heat of any food and drinks does not bother me and few things burn me. That's how it is here. There is nothing like that - the third sip is really recommended - everything that was there together with a clearly noticeable fruity, burnt saltiness. As if a slice of pineapple was sprinkled with coarse sea salt and eaten straight from the fire. Finally, an aftertaste of very strong dark chocolate.
    • Finish
... …oh it lasts, stuck to the tongue, a bit sweetish, vanilla, something like fruit dipped in hot dark chocolate, still peaty. One could be tempted to say that in the finish all the sensations from the "nose" and mouth appeared "in telegraphic" summary.
