Relatively shy. Heavy smoke, algae, powdered sugar, coniferous resin. In the background maybe the Kumquat.
    • Taste
      88 88
Very spicy, a bit aggressive. Needs a lot of water, but this can also be well tolerated. Smoke, coniferous resin, sweet kumquat, wood.
    • Finish
      88 88
Pulls down a long time. Spicy, woody, smoky, resinous.

Conclusion: too little fruit for me. A sherry finish would have been good for him. Still a good whisky. Rather on the "elegant" side.

A nice Bunnahabhain with a clear profile: fruity, coastal and some decent peat!

Pretty straightforward malt. Although the distillery is not mentioned, but the imaged on the label (and now no longer existent) Warehouse can be unmistakably close to a Bunnahabhain. Absolutely, you could also write Móine on it.
No restrained or dignified representative of his guild, for his 14 years, the still has plenty of power.
    • Nose
      87 87
Clear smoky note, highlighted with herbs, light fruits and mineral notes of wet pebbles. Something Black Forest ham. The bright fruits turn out to be green grapes, pear, apple. Very clear and direct.
    • Taste
      88 88
Spicy-smoky onion with liquorice pastilles, pepper and grapes. Strong in the start, but not aggressive despite his high cask strength. Dry from the beginning. Lots of fresh wood. Raisins covered in chocolate. Espresso beans. Honeycomb, vanilla pudding. A freshly mown wild herb meadow, counteracted by hearty smoke, salt and heated roofing felt.
    • Finish
      88 88
Medium long and dry. The smoke hardly passes in intensity. Licorice, pepper and espresso beans, accompanied by dark chocolate.
