    For those who missed out on batch no.1, don’t fret. This hits the same vein and is even a little sweeter and “easier” than the first Glenlivet. Definitely a good PPR!
    • Nose
      Very similar to batch no. 1. Quite toffied, full of caramel and candied oranges. A brightly fruity sherry profile. Definitely canned pears, as well as a touch of pineapple. Nice!
    • Taste
      Juicy-spicy arrival. Quite pungently honeyed, herbal with eucalyptus, and peach puree. Rather sweet all the way through. Hardly any bitterness or tannins to be found here.
    • Finish
      Medium. Herbal honey, toffey, a touch of virgin oak as well.

    Similar to batch # 1 in the nose, but less complex and sharper. The taste is also stronger, spicy. The fruity has a slightly artificial touch, which then gets stuck in the finish. Solider paints, but does not get to the predecessor

    ... taste it in direct comparison to "Small Batch # 1" [WB-ID 110402, similar parameters].
    I can only see slight differences, see them qualitatively absolutely at eye level ... very good bottlings ... sherry aromas and a lot of European oak ...
    [Color] amber;
    • Nose
      Raisins, dates, sherry, dry, nutty, wood, oak;
    • Taste
      aromatic, powerful, quite spicy start, dark berries, sherry, spice cake, speculoos, cinnamon stars, clearly spicy oak;
    • Finish
      medium-long finish with almonds and dry sherry; in the aftertaste the full spicy oak;

    Great Glenlivet from SV. Again!

      Oh yes ... this is something for my German sherry nose. Full board, no hide-and-seek. Sweet and Creamy. Baked apple with almond sticks. Very ripe mango, a hint of caramel, just before it burns. I admit, I am not impartial, as I really like sherry barrel-aged livets, but neutral noses should also like it.
    • Taste
      92 92
      The taste keeps what the nose promises. The first drop papered the tongue with oily honey butter. The almonds are there, dried apricots and an old bottle flavor. Autumnal mushroom cream sauce with cranberries.
    • Finish
      90 90
      In the finish it looks more reserved, I would say medium-long. But the force is still there. The palate is sticky with sweetness and buttery biscuits. Light oak notes round off the dram.

      Great malts for my amateur palate.

    Intense, light and fruity on the nose with vanilla sugar / pudding, strawberries, raspberries and banana. Behind it a hint of mint.

    The impressions from the nose are reflected intensely in the mouth.

    Milk chocolate and some wood are added in the finish.
    Length: 5/10

    Very nice, intense and modern sherry malt with good PLV. My surprise winner in comparison from 5 sherry malts.

    Note 1-

    Doesn't quite come close to the excellent Edition # 1, but is also very coherent and successful in its own way.
    If you are looking for a first-fill sherry bomb instead of a nicely matured, yet crisp, fresh and creamy Glenlivet, you are of course in the wrong place.
    • Nose
      86 86
      In direct comparison, a bit more sour, vinous and fermented than Ed. 1. But the typical Glenlivet flavors (pear, almond) are there, and here, too, the sherry by no means overlays the malt. Sultanas, plums, quinces, cake batter, light wood seasoning: everything is beautifully delicate and balanced, nothing stands out - especially not the alcohol. All in all, it might seem a little more uncouth and fresher than Batch 1, but otherwise there is nothing to complain about here either.
    • Taste
      87 87
      Starts sour and citrus-fruity-fresh, but then becomes nice and creamy from the middle and pleasantly spicy at the end.
      Currant, marzipan, speculoos, cinnamon star - roughly the sequence. The mouthfeel would certainly have benefited from a few percentage points more, but the alcohol strength fits perfectly in terms of taste: nothing burns, the development on the palate is beautifully gradual and well-defined, and the aromas are clearly evident. Really good and harmonious drinking whisky, which nevertheless has enough facets to stay exciting even over longer distances.
    • Finish
      86 86
      Almond butter, currant jelly, apple cider, wood seasoning.

    Light and tasty. Orange, marzipan, chocolate. It pays to leave time in the glass.

    Very fruity, quite sweet, lots of orange and figs. On the one hand tasty, on the other hand also complex enough to deal with it for a while. I don't know Batch 1, but I highly recommend it.

    Sweet whisky with a clear alcohol note in the smell
    • Nose

      Raisin, some coffee, some caramel, alcohol is clearly in the nose,
    • Taste
      89 89
      Sweetness, honey, some raisins, later chocolate, full-bodied. Overall, rather reserved
    • Finish
      89 89
      Sweet, later oak, chocolate,
