Exotic fruit bomb on the tongue paired with some wood-ginger spiciness. I like it very much!

A well balanced irish, not as fruity or as rich as some other brands, but still very well done!
    • Nose
      86 86
A bit of sour milk to start (or over ripe papaya), tropical fruits, light oak, icing sugar
    • Taste
      88 88
Nice and fruity! Tropical and orchard. Rich and rounded with oak, light touch of white pepper.
    • Finish
      86 86
Pepper and oak, then the fruits return

Single malt Irish whisky, distilled twice by the Cooley distillery. Very good, pleasant to drink and elegant. Alcohol not received
    • Nose
fresh fruit, tea leaves, a pinch of vanilla, tart, a touch of coffee
    • Taste
good body, dense, quite spicy, moderately sweet, citrus
    • Finish
      long, sweet and citrusy

Nice part with a slightly weak finish.
    • Nose
      86 86
The scent of flowers, sweet honey
    • Taste
      87 87
Slightly oily, spicy forest honey, peppery pineapple, burnt caramel
    • Finish
      84 84
      not that long, slightly bitter

actually a fine malt. Nose is definitely convincing and is absolutely my thing again. Unfortunately, the palate can't quite hold it. Otherwise, that would be a direct purchase candidate. The departure catches some of this disgrace, but is still not enough for more points.
    • Nose
      88 88
At first a little cautious, then there is a slightly sweet beginning full of fruit notes. More exotic fruits than the otherwise typical, pineapple, mango, melon, grain and malty notes predominate. plus a nice vanilla-honey sweetness, somehow the impression always comes of artificially sweetened fruit candy,
      I like it very much.
    • Taste
      85 85
spicy, slightly tingling sharpness, some vanilla and some toffee, fruity with pineapple, mango. nice malty with a few wood notes, every now and then it has a slightly alcoholic effect, although not really bothersome, but it's not nice either. The palate generally drops a bit ...
    • Finish
      86 86
Medium-long finish, somewhat dry, still light fruit with a little sweet fruit tea and slightly tingling spice.

  20. DerDennis! scored this whisky 88 points Specialist

Very pleasant whiskey. Well-integrated alcohol. The smell and taste are almost identical at first, then when swallowed, a small taste explosion that slowly fades away in the finish
    • Nose
      87 87
Sweet, honey, light fruits, marzipan, white gummy bears, no noticeable alcohol, somewhat closed overall
    • Taste
      88 88
sweet, spicy, some pepper, becoming creamy, light tingling, pleasant tannins, nutty, marzipan, here too gummy bears, a faint note of ash, vanilla
    • Finish
      88 88
long, marzipan and tannins, becoming dry, sticks to the palate, unsweetened peppermint tea

Carefully selected from rare stocks of aged Irish whiskey, Fercullen 14-Year-Old Single Malt has been expertly distilled and set aside to mature in bourbon barrels by one of Ireland’s most accomplished Master Distillers Noel Sweeney.
    Nose:
Honey, vanilla, sweet malty, spice, almonds, cinnamon, rich plums, clean and fresh.
    Taste:
A refreshingly smooth and complex nectar deliver layer upon layer of smooth, silky sweet malt with crisp oak. Spicy, fruity, nutty, complex and tasty.
    Finish:
Malty to start with a lingering sweet spice malt and fruity fresh finish.

He can be more than impressive. Rarely, that you have a 14-year-old Irish single malt in the glass, which has these beautiful fruit notes, which are usually reserved for older single malts.
    • Nose
      87 87
Ui, the scent of a bag that has just been opened Haribo Tutti-Frutti is the first thing that comes to mind here - a full load of sweet exotic fruits with a slightly artificial touch, but that does not detract from the positive first impression. Fresh grass cuttings, vanilla, honey, toffee.
    • Taste
      86 86
Fruity start with papaya, pineapple, guava and mango. Dry wood, pepper. Well-balanced mixture of fruit and spice, which one otherwise likes to find in much older Irishmen. Creamy.
    • Finish
      86 86
Medium-long and dry, the fruits and spices continue to compete for flavor dominance.

  23. magic_slim scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Fruity, complex and very tasty - what a positive surprise!
    Recommended.
As far as I know this whiskey was distilled at Cooley Distillery ... the Powerscourt Distillery just opened. Obviously Powerscourt Master Distiller Noel Sweeney knew very well, which casks from his former company are outstanding good.
