Mouth: An action ride - first intense barley, very voluminios, perfect bunnahabhain-taste, then citrus, salt being directly followed by wooden bitterness.
Finish: The bitterness remains.
Conclusion: I assume it would have better aged in a standard barrel - the octave gave to much bitterness. Especially the initial taste in the mouth is great, like a 12 year old bunna with cask strength, near perfection. But immediately the bitterness kills it off. What a pity.
