Nose: Beautiful fruit notes like dates and dark cherries with a slightly playful sherry note, accompanied by a constant proportion of wood. Creates a nice warmth in the nose.
Taste: Bäng strong with a slight bitterness that quickly vanishes. Beautiful balanced blend with Old Bottle Flavor flavor. That's fun
Finish: Beautiful pepper that is beaten down by the fruit notes to then turn into a pleasant warmth. Reminds me of plum in Madeira. Very long finish convinced me.

Water: no, he definitely does not need it

Conclusion: delicious sherry dram, which promises something in the nose, and then delivers in the taste also.
    • Nose
Herbs (oregano) preserved in sherry, cherries, figs, a good portion of oak, nutty sweetness, beeswax
    • Taste
Soft start, sherry with figs, raisins, some chocolate and nuts
    • Finish
long, sweet, rum-raisins, strong oak, some cinnamon, no bitterness

  4. Blake or Mortimer? scored this whisky 90 points Expert Junior

Not especially my usual type of Whiskies, but of very high quality nevertheless. Probably quite an active Cask, this, explaining low ABV after 'only' 17 years.

    Caskstrength nonetheless!

  5. DerDennis! scored this whisky 88 points Expert Senior

Great sherry nose, Christmas spices and fruits. Strong taste, despite "only" 46%, nicely spiced fruit note. The finish is long, but is a bit bland. I'm afraid, here was a little too much diluted.
