- Beautiful maritime sea malt. Everything works very well and balanced. Not as angular and edgy as the 12Y CS.
I like the slightly smoky note of the springbanks in general very well. Always has something of a holiday on the rough sea.
more sherry with sweet fruits, light smoke; slightly spicy, like the 12Y CS maritime notes, hints of chocolate maybe a little almond
Works more mature and heavier than the 12Y CS.
strong and with a peppery pungency; spicy; light smoke, creamy with raisins, figs, and some vanilla
medium tingling, smoke remains sweet fades quickly and there remain maritime notes like salt, feeling of a sea breeze,
- • Springbank 15 WID: 125474
Abv. 46%, Bourbon Barrels and Sherry Casks
Nose: light but medicinal smoke, with a very heavy, oily and aromatic note, pepper, some fresh leather with a rather youthful character, thickened cranberries with a harsh Charkter
Taste: sweet, sticky, leathery and above all dirty, the creamy consistency helps to dress the entire mouth, seems almost as brutal in the mouth as some southern coasts of Islay Malts
Finish: Leather tobacco and, surprisingly, eucalyptus
Conclusion: Solid standard of his distillery makes no shame and I can now very well the Dirty note associated with Springbank is understood. He was not able to knock me off his stool.
