Wonderful 15 year old. You have to like the sulfur note in the nose (which I do) but otherwise a wonderful flavor profile. The alcohol is very well integrated and barely noticeable
    • Nose
At the beginning there is a sulphurous note which I would not necessarily call unpleasant, then there are many dried fruits, plums, raisins, chocolate, slightly spicy oak, dark berries, later a little honey in the background
    • Taste
nice sherry notes with plums, dark berries, dried fruits, chocolate, becoming creamy, slightly spicy oak, very salivary, later becoming very slightly bitter
    • Finish
nice finish with lots of dried fruits, plums, chocolate, then spicy oak notes which become a bit bitter towards the end. Right stock finish

Really cool! Who asks about alcohol here: This is one of those where the alcohol cannot be smelled / tasted / felt at all and apparently 100% of this is converted into taste ^ _ ^ Maybe a bit too spicy for my taste. Sure, it doesn't all have to be "Macallen" or "Glendronach", but the longer you sip "Minischl├╝cke", the more peppery it gets in the mouth. Still just great part.
In the end, it's not enough for me to raise it to four stars (on my very strict scale for me). Didn't try the 21 year old until not too long ago ... it's even more my taste.
    • Nose
Undiluted: First and foremost, of course, and permanently massive sherry. The dry plum and raisin, only slightly sweet variation (not the one with a fresh cherry aroma). Slightly citrus fruits in the background, preferably oranges / mandarins. Some aromatic spices with a bit of pepper, but also strong / intensely spicy notes such as cloves and cardamom.

Diluted to approx. 45%: similar behavior to comparable whiskys. The spice note comes across more clearly and the fruity aromas are somewhat inhibited.
    • Taste
Diluted to approx. 45%: distinctly spicy (and not very fruity at first) compared to "similar" whiskys. Only with the second sip are the fruit aromas really activated again. But that doesn't mean that the spiciness will decrease, on the contrary.
    • Finish
Diluted to approx. 45%: spiciness on the tip of the tongue and subtle fruitiness with a little bit of sweetness on the palate.

    Very complex and relatively dry.
More like something for advanced, there is a lot to discover!
    Great PLV.
    • Nose
Dark, heavy sherry notes, plum jam, allspice, pepper, turmeric, nutmeg, cinnamon, and much more.
You feel like you are in an oriental spice bazaar.
    • Taste
Very full and extremely juicy. It's really fun.
    • Finish
Perhaps a little too dry for me personally. But all in all a great malt with a very unique character that is way ahead in this price range.
PS: the more I try it, the better I like it.

Wooden on the nose with toasted aromas. Then becomes creamier and fruity after a fruit cream cake with dark berries and plums.
    • Taste
      88 88
Intense and powerful after dark sherry fruits such as plums and wild berries. But also creamy-velvety, beautifully full-bodied. Drier in the mouth for longer and tangy and tingly on the tongue. Sometimes I taste chocolate too.
    • Finish
      87 87
Medium length and warming. Nutty and spicy.

    Aroma:
Sherry, spices, a touch of lovage, sulphured raisins ...

    Taste:
Warm with a light start, with lots of dried fruits (dates, figs, sulphured raisins). Sweetish, becoming soft, oak notes, light barrel / coffee note, hint of chocolate.

    Departure:
with dried fruit aromas and warm oak notes, sweetish and long-lasting ...
