    Nice aroma.
    Oak wood, soft and creamy.
But also a little alcoholic ... it still needs some time in the glass.

Rather spicy on the nose, maybe some honey.
Vanilla comes easily in the background ... it gets better.

    The flavor comes out strong:
Wood, juniper, sloes, ... and a bitterness.

    It's easy to drink well.
The aroma is more beautiful than the taste.

Beautiful, ever-changing aromas in the nose. Not very complex, but young and fresh, with no metallic notes.
The taste and finish very pleasant, but unfortunately without the nose to confirm or repeat this interplay of flavors. Very good drinkable.
    • Nose
      87 87
fresh, sweet, honeydew melon, spicy, nutmeg, orange peel, sawdust, hay, a bit dusty, faded carnation, furniture polish, later malt and a little vanilla
    • Taste
      85 85
Licorice, oily, light spicy, vanilla, orange peel, nutty, slightly malty, slightly metallic. Overall a pleasant mouthfeel and not boring.
    • Finish
      85 85
medium length, slightly tingling, tannins and some fruit sweetness, again the orange peel, a bit bitter and dry, but that does not bother

Balvenie 12 Single Barrel WID: 125104
Abv. 47.8% 12 years Bourbon barrel
Nose: immediately an intense honey-vanilla note, while a dense malty, round light fruit with sweaty pears and red apples, sugar syrup, the alcohol is well integrated, but not the same positivity as an older Bourbonfassreifung
Taste: the impression of the nose intensifies at this point and is well carried by the healthy 48%, bitter almond extract for a pot pie, but in very shallow expression
Departure: short sweet and after a few seconds unfortunately not much more than the vanilla remains
Conclusion: delicious uncomplicated, but also a bit simple. He can do what he wants and that too. For me almost the best PLV from Balvenie.
