Uber fruity, Citrus, honey, candied fruits and exotic fruits, pineapple, grapefruit , so refined and subtle, brilliant. Ageing in the jug must have played a big role in adding complexity.

Opened another jug of Sutti Import Italy. Very different experience.

This one is rather mineral, a lot of clays, maybe the OBE caused, only citrus fruits (dried orange), nearly no tropical fruits detected. I was kind of disappointed by this, but more cereal and smokier flavours are present, still very good old Springbank.
    • Taste

A lot more bodies compared to the last jug I opened, grassy and buttery oak, chocolate spices, mints and sooty root vegetables, earls grey tea, quite oily and balanced.
    • Finish
      89 89
Medium to long, bitter herbs, dark chocolate spices.

Much better than the black ceramic jug. DRINK IT FAST ONCE OPENED!

Tropical fruits! Mango and papaya, passion fruits, full on, but reduced very fast once opened after about 1 month. Fresh cream and grass,

Fruits are there, fresh grapes, but more towards peated malt, sweet herbs and flowers, dark chocolates, some farmy notes too. A lot of mints, a bit watery but very quaffable.
    • Finish
      92 92
Some bitter oak and fresh cut mints, old leather, camphor, cough medicine.

At first I was sceptic about the nose but it turned into good - on the palate I was totally surprised by the creamy and fruity taste! Fantastic!

Btw this one is quite different than the 12yo in the black jug (WB ID 68577) that is even a bit better.
    • Nose
Citric, grapefruits, green fruits, green apples, kiwi, carambole, herbs from the alps, honeydew, hints of old books - not bad
    • Taste
Oily, creamy, waxy, honey, peaches, cantaloupe, good sweetness, hints of vanilla - really good
    • Finish
Medium long, warm, still creamy and smooth

Nose: Old-style Springbank! Super fruity "tropical nose" with mango, papaya, lychee, pineapple and lime as well as honey, creamy vanilla and soft leather. Gray smoke with much spice and wax provided - absolutely round and without any tips.
Taste: Soft, round and harmonious with ever-challenging spiciness - leather, paperboard, honey and lots of tropical fruit jam. Stinging tips of mint caught in a seasoning of salt, nutmeg, cardamom, almonds and very subtle oak.
Finish: Medium length - dry nutty with underlying smoke and notes of taste. Getting drier on the basis of leather and astringent, dried herbs!
    91 points (nose: 93 / taste: 91 / finish: 90)
