  1. ctu scored this whisky 92 points Connoisseur

Interesting old malt, I would this profile between Clynelish and Brora.

      91 91
Butter popcorn, peat, vanilla, citruses, pineapple and peach.
    • Taste
      92 92
Bittersweet. A fruity, peaty start than spices and some bitterness.
    • Finish
      92 92
      Long, bittersweet, peaty.

You can`t beat the old cadenhead dumpy bottles.

This might be called Clynelish but I class it as a Brora as its pre 67.

There are definite similarities to the Rare Malts Brora bottles.

    With water

Even fresher with more fruit on the nose and on the palate the peat has now taken over with less fruit the finish is still on the long side. This has quite a substantial palate and if it was not for the slight bitterness it would score around 94 points but 90-91 is a fair reflection
    • Nose
A blast of citrus hit you first, apple, pineapple and mango, lovely.

Some buttercream, very faint hint of vanilla and some peat in the mix, it smells clean & crisp. The peat seems to grow in the glass.
    • Taste
Substantial mouthfeel, fruit and peat mixing well but there is a slight bitterness at first and a little dry.The fruit gets further in the background , bitter apple and plum but the peat is growing mixing in with brine and coastal air
    • Finish
Good length with a bitter sweet battle to the finish
