The Mettermalt Classic is a pleasant, full-bodied, whisky. It is very straight and easy to drink.
    A good solid, german malt.

The mettermalt® Classic Whiskey is the classic whiskey from the fesslermill1396 distillery.
The basis of the whiskey consists of several types of grain (wheat, rye, barley malt) from the distillery's own regional agriculture, which were ground in the in-house Fessler mill, which is over 620 years old, using the old craftsmanship on the shotgun from 1870 with millstones. The grain was distilled several times in the distillery and then stored in the more than 400 year old vaulted cellar of the Fessler Mühle. The storage of this whiskey varies between Württemberg wine barrels, old Scottish whiskey barrels and classic American ex-Bourbon barrels. Domestic spring water from the local alwa spring is used for the whiskey. Swabian whiskey from Germany.

The mettermalt Classic Whiskey received silver at the 2019 state award.

Vegetarian | Without the addition of flavorings | Own grain with own grinding | Natural taste of the grains and from the barrel storage | Alcohol content: 40% vol.

Whiskey from Germany - fesslermill 1396

The whiskey now presented is more or less the standard bottling of the distillery and should always taste similar and be permanently available. The basis is rye and wheat.

mettermalt Classic Whiskey, 4 years, 40% alc. Original bottling. Expansion: Whiskey barrels from Scotland and wine barrels from the region

Nose: Vanilla sugar on shortbread, slightly sweet, initially mild at first. There is a lot of grain, followed by a good portion of citrus fruit. Lime juice and freshly sliced Granny Smith apple.

Palate: Mild and silky, the apple aroma increases sharply and after a short time displaces the grain, a pleasant and unobtrusive sweetness. Behind it a slight tendency towards bitterness. Wood, coffee, caramel.

Finish: Medium length, dry towards the end with caramel and lightly burnt bread.

Conclusion: mild, not too complex, no missing grades. The alcohol is well integrated. A pleasant companion for mild summer evenings or social gatherings. 83/100 points (2021). I thank the distillery for the sample.

More tasting German whiskey from the Advent Calendar. This time from Baden-Württemberg.
According to the information booklet and various websites, it should be a three-year whiskey made from wheat, rye and spelled, matured in bourbon barrels, and in Italian barolo wine barrels, Nebbiolo, Lemberger (which is a synonym of Lemberger), and bright Arneis variety.

Aroma: Very unpleasant smell. It sticks out a cheap booze, then vanilla, grain. Furthermore, muesli and yeast buns. Traces of wrapping no, no hint. (68 pts)
Taste: Tastes a lot like smells. The taste is thin, flat, booze-free. Slightly sweet grain, in the end creamy wood and, unfortunately, unpleasant bitterness in reverb. (58 pts)
    Points: 63
Summary: Very unsuccessful whiskey, where in vain I look for a hint of promised wine barrels. Then the bitterness in the aftertaste totally arrives at the smell and taste.
