Whisky Reviews for Carsebridge 1973 PST

4 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 91.96 points

  1. Dram Dracula scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
Thin, flighty alcoholic aromas. Stings the nose a bit. An odd rum smell, along with some fragrant wood. Almost like a cognac.
    • Taste
Salty, very heavy sherry, with some fragrant oak. Purple grapes, blackcurrant, soy sauce, and coffee grounds. I tasted it blind and thought it was a combination of cognac, bourbon, and rum. Well, it's a grain, which goes to show you that a grain, depending on what the grain ratios are, may be a bit of a chameleon.
    • Finish
Lengthy. A bit of oak at the end. Funny, I thought it was quite a young whisky at the beginning due to the thin, spirity aromas.

Delicious grain from the sherry barrel. Old Grains can do something. I like it.
    • Nose
Already certain rum notes. Molasses. Rum balls. Rum raisins. Then dark fruits like aronia, blueberry and blackthorn. Everything but not very cute. Also some rye bread, in which the bark has become a bit dark. Additionally wet forest soil.
    • Taste
The rum notes are also present in the mouth but more subtle than in the nose. In addition forest honey. Slightly burnt double-chocolate chip cookies. Red fruit jelly. Roasted nuts. Coffee.
    • Finish
Chocolate grape nut. Freshly roasted coffee beans. Implied frankincense.
