    N: malty lemon-vanilla cake
P: old straw, old lemons and vanilla
    F: short, disappears quickly

Very average - if not a little below - offering

I smell first ... yes ... again. Spices and pepper. So far all whiskys have this clearly in it and I am not blown away very much. I actually think it's all medium tasty whiskys. Good for a bottle once. But not worth repeating.

    But okay. We go on.

I also smell a scent that really reminds me of an early walk in a forest. I already saw myself walking in a large and foggy forest. Funny how you can get more than just a scent from whisky.

Smell 1x and I get a sweet smell out. Vanilla!

Roll the glass again and time for the first sip.

I taste the vanilla. And it also seems that there is something of banana in it. I taste further in the whisky after good rolling over the tongue it seems something of coffee.

And of course not forgetting ... the pepper!

The aftertaste is long and still tastes a bit like vanilla custard or something.

Wet grass, bit apple, lemon, vanilla...
Pretty okay, not very very special, but still okay.
    • Taste
      85 85
Friendly, smooth, a little bit pepper, nutty, vanilla, but overall a typical unpeated single malt whisky.
    • Finish
      84 84
Not too long, but a nice finish.

let's see if drinking this one does not give the same result as the last drink that Robert Baratheon himself drank...
    • Nose

lemon, fresh, melon, pear, rather sweet and gentle.
    • Taste
      76 76
bit darker tones, some wood, earth, vanilla yogurt, red apples.
    • Finish
      74 74
      vanilla, brown spices, fairy short.

This one strongly reminds me of the Royal Lochnagar 12 yo from the standard range. But I don't have the standard version anymore to compare them. Can anyone confirm this?

    • Nose
Hints of grass and lemon zest, and whiffs of candied oranges. There's a touch of galia melon too. Simple, yet fairly pleasant.
    • Taste
Surprisingly earthy and with a burst of dry oak, it also displays soft notes of pineapple and lemon yoghurt. Slightly herbal with hints of basil. Again, not overly complex, but enjoyable.
    • Finish
Short to medium in length with a hint of vanilla.
