Whisky Reviews for Bunnahabhain 12-year-old
8 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 84.83 points
Cherry, wood, pears, smoke, cigarette box
Roasted nuts, cherry, smoke, pine and coffee beans
Medium long finish, smoke and red fruits at the end.
Fresh, sweet. Seaweed, malt.
Soft, supple. Sherry, nutty. A little sweetness, malty, juicy sultana. Slightly coastal.
Sherried, mochaccino, herbal, balanced salty tang.
- For years not been a big fan of Bunnahabhain by tasting a (bad ..?) Sample of one of their expressions. And I have regretted this ..
Picked up a bottle for 12 years at the local liquor store in December 2019 and, oh my, how good this stuff is!
A very delicate and balanced whisky. Sherry tones, nuts, raisins. Good alcohol percentage, not sharp, perfectly drinkable without adding water.
- Bunnahabhain 12 WID: 122708
Abv. 46%, Sherry Butts & Bourbon Barrels, OA
Nose: full and stimulating saliva, honeydew melon, caramel, wine gum, currant jam, sweaty apples, fine sweetened herbal tea
Taste: intense sweetness, honey, vanilla, grape must, really great, but a few years more are certainly great, I'm looking forward to the 18s
Finish: short and sweet, raisins, dates, creamy latte
Conclusion: For a standard OA really a delicious and very fair priced droplets. He will surely find his way to my shelf, but before that I really have to try the 18s
- I can't think of any other whiskies this age of better value.
Raisins, figs, milk chocolate.
A bit short, but lovely flavours.
