The Marsala influence is absolutely noticeable, but never overpowers, which is not always easy with fortified wines.
    • Nose
Notes of orchard fruits. Red apple skin, stewed pears, but also cinnamon, clove and a slight floral influence. A hint of macadamia nuts as well.
    • Taste
Nice integrated cask finish, with a syrupy sweetness certainly originating from the Marsala. Some more stewed pears, but also plums and figs. Finally a touch of orange and coffee bitterness, as well as a fairly pronounced pepperiness, followed by a whiff of oak.
    • Finish
Early grey, sweet white grapes, spices and sawdust.

Another Tullibardine, this time from the Marsala Cask. Here, too, information on coloring and filtering is missing. This is unfortunate. Here, too, he looks more natural and has a neat red hue. And it is also packed in the elaborate box. That's classy - let's see if the content is also classy.

    • Nose
In contrast to other series from different bottlers, the Marquess Collection is rather old school. Here, the barrels are not filled into excessively moist (or to put it bluntly: active) barrels. This leads to results that are not color monsters but retain the basic character of Tullibardine. There is a beautiful fruit note here with aromas of plums that unfold on a vanilla base. But it's not all too sweet, but is contrasted by slightly tart cocoa/oak notes.
    • Taste
Tullibardine has beautifully composed whiskys. Here, too, the wine finish comes into its own on the basis of the bourbon maturation. The Marsala is not too sweet and, in addition to the cherry aromas, also has a slight herbal spiciness.
    • Finish
Here, too, the fruity wine sweetness comes alongside the oak and gives a harmonious overall picture.

This Tullibardine from the Marquess Collection is also a drinkable, beautifully matured whisky that focuses on the whole product and not just the finish. This whisky has lovely cherry flavors and a good vanilla base that combine to create a delicious whisky.

Smell: a fresh and fragrant green apple, a little fruit acid, leaves, pear peel, oak, but not tolerant to wake up, honeydew soda 87/100
Taste: dry straw, aroma of oak, white flowers, apple peel, honey almonds, fine salt, cereal biscuits, dust, strawberry mint, leaves 86/100
Body: Light and extremely oily body, slightly viscous 88/100
Ending rhyme: medium, yellow sugar, dusty wooden bookshelf, a bit of bitterness of citrus
Overall: 87/100, 85 points of flavor level, one point for the green apple with a little acidity in the smell, really refreshing, and one point for the body of the wine.

This bottling is recommended for those who like it slightly astringent and also like to eat red fruit jelly or drink Campari.

Red grapes, blackberries, cranberries, raspberry juice, vanilla, a touch of mint, pear compote, heather honey, hazelnut cream, delicate oak spice.

Really nice whisky, with great fruit flavors and harmonious oak. There is a little deduction for the somewhat too strong pepper note on the palate and in the finish.
    • Nose
A great mix of fruits flows out of the glass, starting with green grapes and pears, through strawberries and raspberries to fresh figs and honeydew melon. Nougat, hazelnut cream, and forest honey. The nose is carried by a mix of vanilla and slightly herbaceous oak.
    • Taste
Middle step. Oily mouthfeel. A honey sweetness starts before the fruits come, the green grapes and fresh figs are mainly present. Then it becomes malty, and at the same time brings a lot of vanilla, before the oak takes over and cocoa and hazelnut flavors come through, as well as strong white pepper.
    • Finish
Medium length. Really strong canned pears and vanilla, plus a nice, slightly peppery espresso note from oak. Some hazelnut. Quite peppery.
