    • Nose
Honey, leathery, salt, fruity, oranges, apples, a whiff of apricot, melon, grassy, some spiciness, nutmeg...in time something like orange lemonade (‘ranja’).
    • Taste
Citrus fruit, oranges, a bit creamy, vanilla, salty liquorice, pepper. A nice firm entry.
    • Finish
Creamy and sweet, oranges, malty, again the orange lemonade (‘ranja’), again some liquorice, anise, mint and then some apples and honey. Medium to long length.

When it comes to Old Pulteney, I just can't help myself. I find it simply delicious, apparently at any age.
    • Nose
Very shy, a bit closed-off at first. There's a whiff of banana and lemon, also some vanilla. Yeah, now we're getting somewhere. More like the Pulteney that I know and love. A whiff of lime, galia melon, and slightly nutty too.
    • Taste
Signature Pulteney. Lemon, orange zest, a pinch of salt. Some vanilla and pepper too. Finally coconut shavings and some ginger.
    • Finish
The spices linger, followed by salt and green apples.

Unfortunately the nose was a lot worse than the initial whisky. It seemed unbalanced. But both mouth and finish very enjoyable.
    • Nose
Burnt orange zest (if you've ever ordered a cocktail you'll know what I mean), some brown sugar. Cloves and nutmeg. Spicy aroma.
    • Taste
Liquorice, salt, clementine, candies with citrus taste. Some ginger and pepper as well.
    • Finish
Sweet & sour (however, more sweet), pepper, orange-candy, clementines again. A little, little hint of pepper in the finish as well.

  5. Malt Hans scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

Fruity and spicy aroma, fir branches, lime, red gooseberries, ripe melon, cloves, nutmeg, burnt almonds, vanilla and lemon juice. Floral honey sweetness, eucalyptus, ginger, nutmeg, pepper, camphor, camomile tea, vanilla and malt. Medium long, fruity, spicy and malty end
