Raw and floral. Pollen-esque dustiness. Acidic champagne, creamy butter and vanilla. Green gooseberries and dry barley.
    • Taste

Medium creamy texture, slightly oily arrival. More refreshingly sour fruits. Green apples, green gooseberries. Malted barley, green tomatoes even, coated with a mellow sticky oily sweetness.
    • Finish
      86 86
Short but sweet. Green grapes and lemon juice. Vanilla sweetness, a very natural sour note lingers, as if it truely derives from eating sour fruits.

    Dont get the low reviews.
    This is a great bottle.
Apples, lemon, herbal and put on that a brilliant brandy barrel! Adds a love sweet cognac like layer with red grapes, sweet honey, stewed fruits. This is good.

Spicy, fresh, caramel, some citrus, hint of vanilla. Short to medium length finish.

Not easy, quite complex, at least in the nose, the contradictions are not my thing here, but also clearly not negative. Overall, very flowery and light.

    Notes from a blind tasting.

Okay, a Lowlander made from a brandy barrel that has been grilled, that must lead to strange combinations. He wasn't bad, it was definitely worth the experiment! In any case, much better than what DIAGEO normally fills with Glenkinchie, with the exception of special releases.

Fruity sweaty and very full right after pouring. Very light and fresh fruit notes, slightly acidic, but not spoiled but very harmonious. They look tropical. After a few moments, vanilla cream is added, possibly also butter cream. From a different glass it looks a lot darker and creamier right from the start. After a while, very creamy and sweet, more butter cream, a lot of light toffee, apples, plus floral tones, slightly grassy and a little grapefruit. Later, effervescent powder or flavored glucose is added, very intensely. Warmth brings light honey and an idea of herbs into play and now also fermentation notes that disappear shortly afterwards, more grapefruit. In the empty glass I now have the feeling that he saw some smoke.

In the mouth it is rather dry, with a clear acidity, grassy notes here and only a slight sweetness. The start is very mild, the mouthfeel slightly oily. Overall, pretty unspectacular.

The acid dominates in the finish before it dries out significantly. It warms up very easily, but for a relatively long time. Overall medium length. In the end there is a tongue that makes me think for the first time that there might be smoke with him.

Pretty hot, young alcohol hot, it tempers a little with the classic glenkinchie honey notes then some stewed apple and cereals. But not for me. A bit raw for £85. The Ammontillado distillers edition bottles are much more enjoyable at half the price.
