- Gorgeous orange brown color. Quite a lot of wood spice on this one. Perhaps too much. The delicate palette struggles to counter act the bitter, oak bite. Slightly watery in the mid-palate. Grand Marnier. Some creaminess comes late. The tasting notes say "salty" and subtle peat but I'm not getting any of either. Decent but no knockout. Lacks the kind of complexity one would hope for at this price.
- A nicely balanced old whisky, fruit, sherry and wood in harmony. Soft, elegant and immensely drinkable at 44.5%. My favorite style.
