Immediately sherry. More on the nutty side. Salty caramel, a bit chocolate. Behind that some malty and birch-like herbal notes. Thyme. Some shy fruity tones appear, getting more prominent with time. Clearly dried apricots to me, with a little touch of candied lemon peel. An idea of rain falling on hot stone (ozone?). All in all quite appealing. Medium intense, not so much "in your face" but more gentle and elegant.
With water the herbal notes get dominant.
Oh, there is the oak and the 22 years! Strong liquorice. Leather, tannins, vanilla, hazelnut. Nutty sherry, chocolate and caramel again with some spicy notes (cumin, nutmeg). Contained sweetness balanced by woody dry notes. Easily drinkable without water. So easy, that I have to go for a refill to complete my tasting-notes :-)
Liquorice, oak and chocolate. Some herbal notes shine trough. Well balanced between sweet and dry, like a good truffle-praline.
