Jep, that's what I like. quite a load of port influence, light sweetness, grapes, raisins, the ABV makes it quite rough but that suits this dram very well. there is a malty, grassy tone, the spices from the cask and all aromas are quite powerfull. Finish is really nice and as soon as its gone you want another one! Excellent dram for this age!

Port Pipes are the 500 liter (long and narrow) barrels used to age Port Rubies
    Good whisky, but not memorable
    • Nose
very sweet and vinous, chocolate, mon cherie, there is also a balsamic suggestion of anise and juniper, icing sugar, non-existent alcohol. With water it is creamier and feels like a nice trifle
    • Taste
slightly tannic, sweet and slightly acidic, lemon chocolate, alcohol feels more but does not disturb too much. With water the citrus note disappears, a spicy note comes out and the alcohol is even more docile
    • Finish
long, sweet, chocolaty, sweet and chewy licorice like that of the soft helical stick I ate as a child

  3. Don Cassi scored this whisky 84 points Expert Junior

Sweet and fruity on the nose with strawberries and raspberries.

Intense and sugary-sweet in the mouth. The finish is fruity and chocolaty with associations of rosé wine with a few spices.
    Length: 4/10

Beautiful, sweet and fruity port wine maturation, very similar to the Rioja sister.

    Grade: 2+

    • Nose
Very fresh, unriped fruit, vanilla, menthol, honey, racina and nutmeg.
    • Taste
Strong, full of fresh, but a bit sharp and prickly. Plums, cinnamon, orange peel.
    • Finish
Orange peel, spices, cocoa. Pleasant long but slightly bitter towards the end.

The Port keg provides very nice flavors, unfortunately, this whisky still lacks some maturity and balance. The alcohol is quite impetuous therefore - stinging in the nose, strong tingling in the mouth. With water he gets softer altogether, unfortunately the nose loses a lot.
A pity - here would have been more in it.

First impression: sweet fruit and pungent alcohol. Grape juice, canned peach, gummy bears. Behind it some baby powder and soap. Vanilla, Mediterranean herbs and some spicy wood.
After the first sip then more berries and chocolate.
Unfortunately, he loses some of his intensity and aroma with water. It now dominate canned peach and gummy bears.
    • Taste

Very tingling onset, pepper and chilli, very sweet, herbs, canned fruits, woody spice, then chocolaty. Without water quite rough.
With water: Clearly creamy, very sweet - almost honey, sour, dark, red fruits, again the intense chocolate, overall much more pleasant.
    • Finish
      86 86
Pretty long with intense, creamy and not yet bitter chocolate, chocolate fruits, grape seeds, still tingling. Even with water the finish remains very intense, maybe even more intense. He shows about the same flavors, juicy Rumrosines and Mon Cheri.

Notable color. It is still quite sharp even after adding a lot of water. It smells beautifully in a glass when you leave it covered after night. Again, very fruity, like basically all of GlenAllachie, which I had the opportunity to taste. Probably not very well-integrated alcohol, which made it hard for me to taste it.
    • Nose
Apricot, toffee, pear and mold or musty.

After adding water: Cork from wine bottle and vanilla roll.
    • Taste
Very bitter and liqueur sweet at the same time. Unripe peach, candy and grape grain.

After adding water: Plum, mirabelle, unripe walnut, cherry, orange and apricot.
    • Finish
Grass stalk, green tea, acidity and grape tassel (its bitterness).

After adding water: Cappuccino, steamed almonds.
