Amazing Family Casks from Glenfarclas. Very well balance of old oak, tobacco, leather und dark fruits (yes, predominantly berries).

    Concerning price/performance ratio: 6/10
    • Nose
Red and dark fruits, old leather, tobacco, dark berries (blackberries and ripe currants), old furniture, furniture polish (made of overripe oranges).
    • Taste
Red and dark fruits, old leather, tobacco, dark berries (blackberries and ripe currants), overripe oranges, a lot of oak.
    • Finish
Long. Leather, old furniture, dark chocolate and old oak.

  2. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

    a great, intense Sherrymalt
    • Nose
Immediately Sherrynoten in the glass, raisins, dried fruits, a little balsamic vinegar, oak, a little wall unit. All pretty sweet and spicy and really powerful after sherry. With water comes out a little more oak, some licorice and the sour notes take something over the edge. Without water he was a bit rounder. But still a great nose.
    • Taste
Sugar sweet and ultra-heavy. He has a lot of alcohol ... I'll be right with the water ... alcohol, liquorice, oak, sherry. With water, the alcohol is somewhat tamed, which is good for the whisky. Lots of oak, lots of sherry, menthol, there was a pretty active barrel on the way.
    • Finish
The alcohol stuns a little, he is really warm. But you can find great Sherrynoten, a bit harsh oak and tobacco. No change with water, except that the alcohol takes a back seat.

sherry, fruits, cherry, heavy, less wood, vegetables
    • Taste
full-bodied and very heavy, starts with syrup-like overtones, sherry, christmas spices
    • Finish
sherry, cherry, wood, coaled earth, dry and very long
