- You definitely get a high quality alternative to any malt here. And at a more than fair price
Orange liqueur, chocolate candy and caramelized brown sugar. Light Cuban rum, like Havana Club. It has this grapevine light acidity, which probably comes from the distilled cereals - in Invergordon maize and wheat. Semolina porridge dusted with cinnamon
very withdrawn, not insanely voluminous, but still not boring. Definitely has less body than a malt of the same age. Dry, smooth, minimally sweet, rather spicy. Light tobacco, sandalwood and roasted chestnuts. Reminiscent of an extremely high-quality bourbon and in the meantime shows approaches of a grappa
sweet-spicy oak, orange liqueur and mixed nuts
- This is a 30yo sherry cask whisky...for just over 100€. Ok, it's grain not malt, but boy, this one rocks. It all starts with the colour, lovely dark sherry. Overwhelming in nose and on palate, just so wonderful. Again, 30yo. Such a bargain!!
- The Grain has an alcoholic note reminiscent of rum. Needs some time in the air to develop.
Sherry, vanilla, brown sugar, fruity, dark dried fruit, light floral note, spicy, oak
Vanilla, sweet, liqueur, sherry, oily, fruity spiciness
Nice spice, bittersweet, oak
- ... reminds me of a good rum made from sherry.
Original Tasting Notes:
Odor: Very fine and noble, nutty, dark chocolate, Brazil nut and some tobacco.
Taste: Dry and pure, bittersweet nut, green tobacco, fine woody notes, tangerine.
Spicy on the finish with honey and gingerbread. A balanced elegant single grain.
