    An excellent peated option! Nicely balanced and with excellent mouthfeel. I didn’t find myself reaching for this as a first choice, but was not disappointed and the drams seemed to become more complex as I worked my way through the bottle. I would consider buying again.
    • Nose
      Sweet, citrus, lovely herbal peat. Perfumey at times. Flashes of cinnamon. With water, becoming softer with more citrus.
    • Taste
      Sweet, soft, honeyed arrival. Thick and honeyed mouthfeel. The texture may be the most impressive aspect. Somewhat bitter and ashy. With water, more mineral and chalky. Interesting!
    • Finish
      Bitter, ashy, with water becoming more ashy. Not complex, not long, but not overpowering. While the finish is not a star feature, it certainly doesn’t distract from the experience. Slainte!

    Solid ABV carries heavy bonfire smoke that gives way to pure clean peat and a dry wine finish courtesy of those French oak casks. Meat, leather, pepper, and wood from the Partagás D5 (BLT MAR 20) take the place of dry aged beef which is my ideal food companion to the PC10.

      Fire smoke, some smoked buckskin, farmy. There is some small amount of mint and herbs. A fullness in the nose like walking into a hayloft - that full aroma. And creaminess, smooth like a milk stout. The peat is not particularly medicinal - with Lagavulin and Talisker I feel like I am right on the beach or at a dock. There is the feeling of some dried pebbles. With water still creamy, farmy, some acidity in the nose. Pebbly and some sweet wool. A light perfume note comes out with water which I am kind of not so enthused by.

      wood fire, rocky, pebbly, embers on a low fire, some chalk. Mint and a dusty, tangy-ness but not quite metallic - this is discordant and not well integrated for me but it also isn’t too bad an off note. With water powdered rocks, powdered sugar, and a little laundry detergent powder. This also detracted from my enthusiasm.

      Malty, but weird, I am having a hard time placing it. Light citrus in the background. Maybe it’s sweet almond that malty taste reminds me of. Adding water leads to a cheese funk explosion. There’s a hint of dark berry, as well. There’s a medicinal quality, but it is different from what I'm used to in things like Laphroaig. That weird thing I can’t identify is kind of like white socks that have been washed, but a while ago, maybe.

      Thick. Light smoke, tiny bit of salt. Water makes it feel thinner but there’s a stronger vegetal taste.

      Peat. It really comes in here and takes over everything. I get a chocolatey sense on occasion. It’s very powerful for a quick burst, and fades about medium length. It’s a bit sharper after water but remains largely the same.
