Whisky Reviews for Dingle Second Single Pot Still Release

2 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 86.08 points

  1. Archer scored this whisky 83 points Connoisseur

With the exotic fruits in the nose, one can guess where he could get if he matured a few years longer. He still lacks the depth and the background of spices, there is still a lot of youthfulness in it. Nevertheless, a pleasant to drink young single pot still.
    • Nose
      83 83
Very fruity with pineapple, lemon, litchi, guava, mangosteen. Has an acidic lemonade on the nose. Slight violet scent, pine resin in the distance. Milk chocolate, vanilla, sugar beet syrup. Spices: Nonsmoking. Refreshing and youthful with tropical-exotic fruits.
    • Taste
      84 84
Dry start with a surprising dose of oak. Presents on the tongue more mature, as it suggests the nose. Malt candy, toffee, honey, vanilla. The idea of a spice mixture, very restrained doses. Wildflower meadow, freshly mown grass, green tea.
    • Finish
      83 83
Indicates a relatively fast finish. Dry, with milk chocolate, honey and raisins.

    Shows great potential for Dingle!
    • Nose

As the alcohol prickles your nose, there's no doubt it's a young whiskey. But getting past this - and after the whiskey has sat in the glass for a bit, it opens and invites you in for a fruity experience mainly by tropicals like mango and pineapple, and a dash of vanilla.
    • Taste
      86 86
With a surprising amount of oak, it opens op to toffee, vanilla and grass, complemented by green tea.
    • Finish
      82 82
Unsurprisingly a very short finish, where vanilla and toffee are the main actors.
