    ...Unfortunately nice !!!
What a fantastic nose ... and the taste is bomb too.
No doubt - we have a new number one from Islay's farm distillery ... that's what I've been waiting for so long :)

The 6th Club release was already good but this one is better - chapeau

I can be wrong, but the "older" (10 years +) Kilchoman of recent times were without exception really good to very good. And the seventh club-bottling is no exception. Kilchoman makes his way, great.
    • Nose
      90 90
A fat smoky note with smoked ham, fresh from the smokehouse. In addition raisins, dried dates and figs, whereby the smoke clearly dominates at the beginning. Grease, machine oil and leather grease ensure that the sherry barrel is not too dominant and the nose is not too sweet.
    • Taste
      90 90
Cold and ashy smoke in dry approach. Quick Sherrysüße is on hand, find themselves red grapes, raisins and dried apricots. A splash of lemon over it. Milk chocolate sprinkles, marzipan, yeast dough. Somewhat well stored wood. Vanilla powder, fine-honey, raw cane sugar. Malt. There is more sweetness on the tongue than in the nose
    • Finish
      89 89
Medium long and not too dry. Grape sweetness, warm smoke with bacon notes, toffee sweets.

    Full gold with reddish
Extremely ripe to overripe oranges with earthy notes, leather, tobacco leaves and then these fat, absolutely gigantic "farmy notes" of wet animal skin and sheepfold. Underly salty, peppery and powerful. In combination with the sherry and the wood just awesome!
Thin but powerful body, with oranges, furniture polish, ultra spicy and woody. Fresh-juicy-spicy-woody and extremely peaty. Very salty tips accompanied by notes of nut and chocolate, as well as powerful liquorice. Dark and smoky flanked with mocha, wood, orange and vanilla. Excellent this multi-faceted taste palette!
Very long - Perfect match between wood, peat, spice, freshness and dark notes. Nuts, mocha, coffee, liquorice, leather, peat, smoky phenols - absolutely great!
As avowed friends of the Kilchoman Bourbon Fassreifung, one must pull the hat here - an absolutely strong bottling!

    Great 12-year-old Kilchoman! That's fun!
    • Nose
Significant smoke, as usual from Kilchoman quite spicy with decent cinnamon, cries at first not too clearly Sherry, because the smoke is superimposed on some, first comes down a little creamy, slightly malty, quite dry overall, now after some time also nuts , yes there is now the Oloroso, the nose is voluminous and heavier, dark fruits, a little acid, the cinnamon is joined by milk chocolate, coffee beans, slightly greasy, it somehow radiates a nice warmth
    • Taste
intense, full-bodied, oily, the taste explodes directly in the mouth, creamy chocolate, the Olorosoeinfluss is there, dry, dark fruits, coffee, in addition the spicy smoke, cinnamon, which does not need water
    • Finish
very fruity in the back, ashy smoke, nut, a breeze of cinnamon, nice long-lasting

Nose: sweet smoke, reminds me of honeyed spare ribs on the barbeque ... imagine a drop of honeyed marinade dropping on the hot coles on a warm summer evening. Got some nice red fruits later on like raspberries and raisins. What a wonderfull nose ! Waaauw
Taste: starts of really spicy and peppery, with lots of sweet smoke and dark fruits. Even some milk chocolate comes trough. Lots of sherry flavours on the palate
Finish: Rather long, smoke stays in the mouth for a few seconds and then the sweetness takes over. Marinaded spare ribs all over again. Later on I get some more nutty flavours, roasted almonds and stuff

Truly a wonderfull dram ... best Kilchoman I tried so far ... masterpiece !

Sweet, fruity, gunpowder peat. The barley is missing on this one, drowned in sherry oak. Perhaps it’s Port Ellen maltings and not their local barley which usually has more character. A bit linear in the palate . We preferred last years bourbon cask release which was fresh and complex but this will please the casual palates with its sweetness and big peat but it lacks complexity and balance for us.
