Delicious malt that convinces on the palate. The rest cannot keep up. Looks rather barrel heavy in the nose.

beautiful, dense, almost gentle sherry nose. Great fruitiness after red berries comes through, there is a honey sweetness, vanilla and light caramel. smells nice of thickened juice, subtle herbal notes and fresh bread dough. Apricots, oranges and bananas follow.

Here too a smooth start. Honey and spicy peppery hotness. Reminiscent of red wine, slightly sour with juicy red forest berries and cherries, raisins and plums in rum, spices of cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, even the vanilla gets through very well, in the background a slightly refreshing note of mint. The alcohol is very well integrated. With water it gets a little softer, less spicy. However, I don't get a higher flavor density or variety. Tastes really good.

Medium-long finish, viscous, heavy sweetness, some spice, with fruity sweet oranges

One of those yellow-fruity first-fill sherry livets from SV, just cask strength. Somehow I preferred the 46%, they seemed more sophisticated. Extremely sweet and definitely too schnapps without water.

Very peculiar, and immediately recognizable as a young SV Livet with light sherry. Sour, fermented, almond-like, pear-like. Juicy-sweet basic character with a lot of creamy and equally sweet American oak. Amarettini, Raffaelo, almond butter, pear drops, banana puree, slightly overripe apple from the windfall meadow. The alcohol stings a bit. Anyone who likes the regular ten-year-old first-fill sherry livets from the Un-chillfiltered range, but found them too soft, could be happy here. It's almost too much of a good thing for me in terms of intensity. With water you could also go to 84.

Yeah, like in the nose: the alcohol has a lot of pressure, but the aroma density cannot quite keep up with the percentage at this young age. Slightly spicy and with a lot of white pepper and pear, otherwise not much can be determined at first. So better water.
Now it becomes sweeter, the almonds come out better (goes in the direction of peeled almond kernels with white chocolate couverture), the whole thing becomes calmer, more sedate, creamier. Foam banana, coconut macaroon, almond biscotti, ladyfingers ... Much, much better, but I also have to say that if this stuff works like that, why not? So I would always prefer the regular forty-six percent, which I don't have to dilute in a laborious (and imprecise) self-experiment.

Sweet, sweet, sweet. Vanilla and banana pudding, pear juice.

This is a nice, classic sherry barrel whisky that you can drink casually - uncomplicated, round and round. Unfortunately I miss the distillery character a bit.
    • Nose
Cherries, toffee, you can already tell that you are definitely dealing with a sherry barrel whisky, because the bitterness of the oak is clearly noticeable, a little honey, candied dates - you could say it is a liquid sticky toffee pudding .
    • Taste
Now I clearly have the barrel character of sherry butter, slight bitterness and clear wood notes, Amarena liqueur, dark fruits
    • Finish
medium to long, here too the barrel has the upper hand, chocolate, nuts

  7. Issie did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

    • Nose
Cherry, cinnamon, strawberries, blackberries, honey, a very small amount of matchstick sulfur, a few pine needles, very light earth
    • Taste
Cherry chewing gum, blackberries, honey, some coffee, the back is slightly dry

Abv. 50.7%, 11 years, Sherry Cask, fall 2018
Nose: dense dark sherry, plums, cinnamon, but also a little slain on the barrel (maybe 1st fill),
Taste: more plums, rum raisins, a hint of juniper, but really only barrel not a bit Brennereicharakter
Departure: briefly relaxed, but not anymore
Conclusion: relaxed malt for an evening in front of the fireplace, from my point of view almost Christmassy

I liked that very much. Brutally tasty! :Top:
    • Nose
      Bright amber

A nice, soft sherry nose. The colleague somehow brings peace with the smell.
A great berry flavor comes after. Honey, vanilla, some caramel. He has something soft cognac-like. Really nice juicy berries and grapes. Everything somehow alive and fresh. Still ripe and something set.
With some time in the glass, the grapes are sweeter. Bit of leather, some pleasant herbs and fresh yeast dough. Apricot jelly, chocolate and oranges come after.
I think, a great, not superimposed nose.
    • Taste
Soft start. Honey, a pinch of pepper. Sweet red wine. Juicy, sweetened berries and cherries. Spices ... vanilla, some nutmeg. Honeydew melon and plum jam. Elderberry liqueur and again juicy grapes with chocolate. A refreshing touch remains in the background. The alcohol does not stand out in any way. Very well integrated.
    • Finish
Medium to long. Syrupy sweetness. Something suitable seasoning. Raisins and oranges. The sweetish berry flavor remains until the end.
