Whisky Reviews for Benrinnes 1975 GM
3 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 85.95 points
- Smoked nose with a small meaty side and a mixture of ripe fruits. Bitter mouth, aqueous texture. Finale on a pleasant drying smoke. Good but too much bitterness seriously reduces the overall appreciation of this whisky.
- TASTING NOTE by G&M;
Colour: Dark amber.
Nose: Sweet vanilla notes, a defined almond/marzipan nose. A pronounced
Sherry influence emerges - Christmas cake.
Palate: Christmas cake influences - dried fruits (dates/raisins), hints of rich
dark chocolate and some gentle wood.
Nose: Initial sherried edge, some dried fruit notes, sweet and very fresh.
Palate: Warming, with Sherry influences. Some delicate spices. Exotic fruits
emerge and linger.
Finish: Long and fruity.
Cask Type(s): Refill Sherry butt.
Whisky Style: After dinner malt.
- the nose is beautiful, unfortunately the taste could'nt fulfill my expectations.
old books, furniture polish, figs on caramellsauce, interesting contrast of fresh fruits to a overall more dusty impression, citrus cleaner, nectarines, dark honey, some distant smoke.
younger with more sherry notes, salt, hazelnuts and herbs.
burned fruitcake, some sherry, toffee, wood influence - a touch of bitterness, dried fruits in the background and again wee smoke notes.
adds a sweet mango.
medium with some smoke. that's it? yep, that's it.
way better with walnuts, a hint of smoke again, old walnuts and drier.
