with water: the nose works well with water, G + F not at all, with more water the nose becomes incredibly fat + intense, and the taste finally becomes rounder - but not as convincing as the nose, with too much water the oak dominates too much

Conclusion: great nose, especially with water, taste and finish are not so round, otherwise that would have been 1-2 points more. Cask 900130 was much rounder there

Sherry, sherry, sherry! Hazelnuts, strong alcohol, but not as strong as the 66.6% suggest, toffee, raisin, plum, cinnamon, cloves, great seasoning, dark chocolate, mint, cherry, amaretto
    • Taste
      86 86
heavy dark sweetness, oily, then the alcohol bites - pure too strong
    • Finish
      86 86
long, here too the alcoholic pungency dominates, the sherry only becomes established late, heavy oak, burnt toast, chocolate

    • Nose
      First without water:
Alcohol clearly noticeable, some earth, strawberries, peach, honey, peanuts, cereals, blackberries, blueberries

      With water:
Right, really sweet, the earth and peanuts are gone, strawberries, blackberries, peach all over my face, now I've got a pinch of cinnamon
    • Taste
Without water .. Probably a bad idea

A mini sip with a lot of spit
Strawberries, blackberries, wood, coffee, chilli and pepper
Crass, that would really work without water. But it is extremely extreme. Very good taste
      With water:
Strawberries, blackberries, minimal grapefruit, milk chocolate, a little pepper

    Delicious particle.
    • Nose
      Blind Sample:

      Colour:
      Amber

      Nose:
A slightly stinging adhesive note greets me first. Let something stand ...
A sweetish vanilla spreads and brings some chocolate with full chocolate. Followed by caramel. A very beautiful, liqueur-like vineyard peach fragrance prevails. Some malt, moist tobacco and a hint of smoke. A pair of cake spices come, which combine with pleasant spice. Wet wood and a certain freshness that comes for me through the alcohol. A slightly metallic aroma lies behind it. Has something of metal spares in the workshop.
    • Taste
Again, a likörartiger start. The alcohol gets through properly and brings a decent chili sharpness with it. The second sip makes it more fruity. Again the peach liqueur and also this very pleasant, moist tobacco taste. Reminds me of the taste, of chili chocolate. Pickled cherries and still warm yeast cake. This sweet glue note I think again. Just like this trail smoke and vanilla. Some leather and a special taste that I can not grade.
    • Finish
Medium. Beautiful fruit sweetness paired with pleasant chili sharpness. Is really nice creamy at the end.

What a hammer. I can drink really good and I can taste a lot. With water completely new trains open up here. I'm sorry that there are no more bottles, I would have liked to buy it. hammer
    • Nose
Sweet; a lot of sherry; Honey and syrup clearly present; Vanilla is clearly there. Spices go by with water and a hint of caramel
    • Taste
Warm; first sharp with oak; then he becomes really sweet, sherry and totally mild. Honey is here. He gets really oily in the mouth. Cherry shows up. Or another red fruit. The initial sharpness fades and it becomes wonderfully round.
With water, fruit is somewhat throttled, but the oak is more in the foreground. Spices get through stronger. He loses sweetness and becomes slightly bitter. Great, what a change. Suddenly the sherry comes back. madness
    • Finish
Warm and sweet, some oak and vanilla.
With water, the sweetness gives way faster and the tart touch of the week returns faster. He gets so much drier. Nevertheless, the oak remains with a touch of sherry long in the mouth.

Especially in the nose rather on the tart and spicy side. In the mouth then more fruit paired with the tart and spicy notes.
Pretty good, relatively young malt from the sherry barrel, which - despite the high alcohol content - is also pure.

Aromatic, well matured Glenlivet from a very active (presumably) Sherryhogshead. Really recommended. Fantastic PLV.

Immediately after pouring very subtle wood and spicy aromas, alcohol noticeable, but despite 666 not devilishly strong.
Then quickly fruity, typical Glenlivetnoten, ripe apples, oranges, yellow mirabelles, apricots, a little later sourish citrus components and again herbs and spices.
After a while, dark cherries and cherry pits as well as mineral notes.
    • Taste
      92 92
Strong onset, but very creamy texture, the alcohol is fabulously integrated. Orange peel, sweet apricots, apples and dates on the one hand, beautiful herbal spiciness, resin and oak bark on the other.
With water more cherry and dark berry fruit, softer in taste and more complex. Forest honey follows.
Diluted to the point you can speak of a taste explosion.
    • Finish
      89 89
Medium to long, discreetly sweet, oaky with herbs, astringent and pleasantly dry.

Water lengthens the aftertaste and gives it a bit more oak bitterness and dryness; Figs, dates, dark chocolate and black tea become more noticeable.

Nice sherry bomb. Still behaving in the nose, with herbal candy as the dominant note. On the palate you can tell that the whisky has matured very well. Lots of sherry and (not too old) wood. The finish is then more restrained, with sweet herbal candy.
