It's a heavily peated Loch Lomond.
    Confirmed by Andy Hart!

Immediately fresh medical peat smoke streams out of my Glencairn. First of all, I have to think of a freshly mown meadow in direct proximity to the sea. But this first impression vanishes quickly and makes room for unripe bananas, walnuts, raisins, dried plums and dark chocolate. Some time in the glass does the malt well and makes the sherry influence even more intense.

On the tongue, the Vital Spark pushes forward with powerful steam. Dry sherry notes with dark chocolate, walnuts, chili, honey, a handful of dried fruits. Some time releases a fine spicy touch. The whole is surrounded by intense peat smoke. A few drops of water help the Malt to develop properly and to intensify the aforementioned flavors a little bit more.

Medium. Chilli, dark fruit, baking cocoa, salt and dark chocolate.

    Absolute bang for my buck!

Class bottling, beautiful bottle with great label.
Tastes good & great gift ...

Access, even for the current 45-50 € worth buying.

Very awesome PGV! I did not realize until late, what a great bottling. 45 €. Is he worth it to me?

Chilli's right, is that a Talisker ?! I do not think so.

Some things remind me of a delicious Laphroaig. Reminds but also something to a Bunna ... I type after re-tasting on Laphroaig.

    Reminds me of this here:

    Two requests:
    * Who tells me what it is?
    * Who still has a source of supply, up to about 50 €?

PS. In the meantime, I generally rate in the relevant price category. This one is almost perfect for me with almost 50 € for his money.

Some say it is Laphroaig or Bunnahabhain. I personally think it is a peated Springbank (Longrow)

Special Malt .... means that will split the minds.
I find it very interesting, especially the nose, but all too often I could not drink it.

You can tell right away, it's different!
Extremely buttery sweet with heavy fruit, as if you made rum raisins with sugar and butter in a pan.
A slight smoky note is also there but it gets even crazier, because it comes something that reminds me of toothpaste and that with the beaver, as many herbs are at the start.
Ripe bananas and hot chocolate at Grandma complete the whole thing.
    • Taste
      88 88
sweet sherry fruits, pepper, light smoke and again the toothpaste, honey and sweetened espresso
    • Finish
      85 85
What can I say, even here remains a smoky toothpaste note, something dry, short

With the smoky nose in the nose you could locate him on Islay, where the sherry barrel, in which he has most likely experienced a full maturation, is already very active and could distort some things.

Spicy smoke wafting over sherry-infused dried fruits (raisins, dates). Nicely dirty with touched match and angekokeltem tires. Slightly medicated, warm tar, salt, seaweed. However, the latter notes resonate only in the background, the sherry and the associated spicy and dirty notes dominate quite clearly. Old leather - and again and again the dried fruit (which later get a chocolate coat).

In the pleasantly strong onset are first milk chocolate and sweet grapes. On the tongue it is less "dirty" than in the nose. Cool menthol comes pretty quickly. Fresh wood, raisins, dried figs. The sweetness of the grapes passes quickly, bitter, unidentifiable herbs occur and mix with the persistant menthol. Smoke is not much on the tongue.

Just a medium-long finish. Dry, dry. With herbs and menthol and finally some smoke.

Unfortunately, quite out of place, I would prefer any Classic of Islay in a similar price range.

Dirty spicy smoke, over there is a good portion of sherry, you can feel the alcohol in the nose, dry, not too sweet, short I have banana, now it is immature, vanilla, seems to me something impetuous, cocoa
with water it gets lighter, still the immature fruit
    • Taste
      83 83
Milk chocolate at the beginning, the smoke is already special, spicy, slightly spicy, the sherry is there, floral, dark fruits, but the flowery is more intense, is ok, intense, espresso
it looks thinner with water, but the sharpness is gone too, with water I found it better despite the sharpness, because more intense
    • Finish
      84 84
Woody, tart, ashy smoke, slightly floral still, chocolate, medium length
