  1. Marko_I did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

I'm not a Talisker fan (I like to drink, but I do not have to), but this is / was really delicious. Beautifully balanced, elegant whisky.
    • Nose
light, fresh sea breeze, maritime, salty, very light smoke, with a mild, fruity sweetness, orange, banana, vanilla, overall very discreet and pleasant
    • Taste
velvety, soft, honey-sweet and fruity, orange marmalade with slightly bitter peel, banana, light pears and peaches, orange chocolate with some pepper and salt
    • Finish
medium length, pleasant, subtle, light smoke, milk chocolate, some pepper

  2. Gearmailteach scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

A pleasantly mature, gentle Talisker. Nevertheless, with all that distinguishes Talisker: sea breeze, pepper, complexity.
    • Nose
Sea salt breeze, seaweed, iodine. Even smoked bacon associations arise. At the same time fruity sweetness, light and dark fruit, grapes, sherry sweetness, warm vanilla and some oak.
    • Taste
Oily, sweet and salty at the same time. Very complex. Smoke, white pepper, orange, malt and oak. Vanilla, sherry, dark fruit, again seaweed and smoked bacon.
    • Finish
Pleasantly long and warm. Some oak, smoke, iodine and orange.

Really nice one from Talisker. Smooth and soft. Big on the seasalt side. Mellow smokiness. Seasalt and pepper combine perfectly. Makes you want to go sit on some beachfront rocks with this bottle and watch the waves brake...

very soft and mild, the age stop, little smoke, but a very elegant whisky

  5. dRambo scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

very fine drop - looks very ripe - almost a touch too round, for my taste he could tolerate 3 - 10% more alcohol - then I would have to rate it much higher - Unfortunately noticeably more complex, deeper, more aromatic than current bottlings with 18yo
    • Nose
      89 89
gentle hints of salt, very delicate fruity sweetness, orange, apple, licorice, some wax, warm wood, tobacco, flowers, black tea with honey, nutmeg, pepper, mint - dense and noble - but ripe and elegant
    • Taste
      90 90
very soft, mild sweet, fine maritime note, citrus aromas, honey, tobacco - grated old oiled wood, very fine camp fire smoke - still perceived as smoke but already very rounded - reminiscent of smoked cheese, or ham - but rather smoked pudding, for his almost 46% very gentle and round - no trace of alcohol - only perceptible by the warmth and the mild power of the aromas
    • Finish
      88 88
Wood and crystalline flowers, fine beeswax, very elegant, round, understated pure - licorice, nutmeg, cinnamon, cough drops

Some sea air. Apricots, oranges, sweet apples, subtle aromatic smoke. Clover, lilac.
    • Taste
Juicy oranges with some chili and beeswax. Very discreet smoke with a slight bitterness.

    Nice fruitiness at this age.
    • Nose
Apricot, plum, limestone, grape, peat and a little banana.
    • Taste
      Peat, apricot, grape and pepper.
    • Finish
      Peat, plum and apricot.

Predominant taste of redcurrant and berries. Black cherry at the end. Most of this water of life get rested in sherry batches I suppose.
