  1. Achany scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

intense Sherry, dark and dried fruits, some traces of nuts, sweet raisins, spices, a bit oaky, traces of matches, finish is all right, long and tends a Little bit to the bitter side but that is all right. Fine ABV, complex malt, well done!

This whisky offers everything you would expect from a beautiful sherry malt: the dense, dark-fruity muffiness of an old wine cellar, sherry swaths and intense aromas of plum jam and raisins - an explosion of ripe fruit aromas with high penetration. Due to the fact that the malt was only ripened for 6 months in a 1st fill PX barrel made of European oak, it has indeed received the full fruit load, but compared to a long-term maturation only a modest amount of oak spiciness; This is noticeable but well integrated. He is still quite young at the age of 11, but has a remarkable complexity.
A little bit of water breaks up the dark base notes and brings out sweeter and lighter fruit flavors.
    • Nose
      90 90
intense aromas of raisins, wine cellars, sherry, plum jam and dark sweet fruits; with a little bit of water even lighter-colored and sweeter aromas come to the fore
    • Taste
      88 88
dense chubby sweetness, raisin paste, dates, prunes, dark chocolate and espresso - a sign that the oak is quite present - and dark caramel; with a little water, very pronounced marzipan and almond notes and a fine nuttiness are added
    • Finish
      86 86
long, fruity and spicy; getting drier with an aftertaste of dry sherry
