The opportunity to try this came in a sample bottle from karloff.
For a young "spirit" I have to say this is promising stuff.
A sweet fruit mix where I really can't separate to many of them.
A few nice red ones, those candied cocktail sherries, but also green unripe banana skin.
It might be the red wine cask influence, as I find it to smell more like port wood than sherry.
Some fresh oak tannins giving away the youth, like it's not quite integrated yet, but from the nose I have to say this is well on the way to become good whisky.
A very good, almost perfect follow up to the nose.
Very well ballanced. If this is blended from several types of casks as indicated, the blending is truely master class.
As on the nose the taste is fruity and sweet, round pleasant texture and a little build up of spice at the end.
It may not be too exciting but it has a consistancy and progression that is just right.
Medium lenght, mainly on fruit.
Again just what you would expect.
Maybe a little "dry patch" on the very end of it.
